Anna Netrebko at the "Great Voices in the Kremlin" Charity Gala Concert, Cathedral Square, Moscow Kremlin, Moscow 6. Sep 2009

The Charity Gala Concert "Great Voices in the Kremlin" has been held at the Cathedral Square of the Moscow Kremlin, Moscow, this Sunday 6. September 2009. The concert, which was one of the main events to celebrate the City Day, featured the Russian-Austrian soprano Anna Netrebko, mezzo-soprano Julia Gertseva, tenor Sergei Skorokhodov and bass Paata Burchuladze, accompanied by Russian National Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Mikhail Tatarinkov in the first part and by Mikhail Pletnev in the second one.

Anna Netrebko sang the cavatina from Ruslan and Lyudmila by Glinka and the duet of Iolanta by Tchaikovsky with Sergei Skorokhodov. Sergei Skorokhodov sang also the Lensky's aria from Eugene Onegin. Julia Gertseva sang the Lyubasha aria from The Tsar's Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov and Marfa's aria from Khovanshchina by Mussorgsky. Georgian bass Paata Burchuladze sang the monologue from Boris Godunov by Mussorgsky and the aria of Kutuzov from War and Peace by Prokofiev.

One of the brightest moments of the concert was a denial of Anna Netrebko from the microphone, which once again confirmed the deserved status as one of the best opera singers in the world.
