REPORT
Iolanta, Gasteig/Philharmonie, München 5. Nov 2012
By Herbert

Tonight it was a "home match" for me - IOLANTA at the Gasteig/Philharmonie in Munich. The house was packed and I only spotted 2 free seats.

As planned, there was a cast change which I appreciated very much: The role of Robert was sung by Russian baritone Alexey Markov (as in Baden-Baden 2009 and in Salzburg 2011), and Lucas Meachem (who sang Robert in Ljubljana) took over the role of Ebn-Hakia, the doctor. I like Markov's voice very much, and he will sing in Berlin, Frankfurt and Essen, too (but not in Nürnberg and Wien).

After Ljubljana and Stuttgart it was the third performance of Iolanta, and it was a great success for Anna and the other singers, who got many curtain calls.

At the stage door Anna was in a relaxed and jolly mood, and she even answered some questions in German!
