Anna Netrebko's debut at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg as Susanna in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro" on 5. Apr 1994

Anna Netrebko made her opera debut as Susanna in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro" at the Mariinsky Theater, St. Petersburg on 5. April 1994. It was a personal decission of Valery Gergiev to give her such an extraordinary first opportunity, singing such an important role, when she was just 22 years old.

Anna Netrebko as Micaela in Bizet's "Carmen" at the Mariinsky Theater, St. Petersburg 1997

This is another treasure! A videoclip from a historical performance of Bizet's "Carmen" at the Mariinsky Theater of St. Petersburg in 1997, starring Elena Obraztsova in the title role, Viktor Lutsyuk as Don Jose, Anna Netrebko as Micaela, Alexander Morozov as Escamillo, Olga Trifonova as Frasquita, Maria Gorzevskaya as Mercedes, Leonid Zakhozhaev as Remendado, Vladimir Samsonov as Dancairo and Alexander Gergalov as Morales. Valery Gergiev conducted the Chorus and Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater.

This was the last performance of Elena Obraztsova as Carmen at the Mariinsky Theater and she broke her left hand during a scene of the 3rd act. Vladimir Samsonov runned behind the scenes to call a doctor. After a pause, Elena Obraztsova returned to the stage to sing her role till the end of the performance.

This is a real treasure! A 24-year old Anna Netrebko as Rosina and Vladimir Samsonov as Figaro in the premiere of Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" at the Mariinsky Theater of St. Petersburg on 9. March 1996. Alexander Polyanichko conducts the Chorus and Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater.

La Bohème, Mariinsky Theater, St. Petersburg 21. Jan 2010


Anna Netrebko was back in St. Petersburg to sing in a performance of Puccini's La Bohème at the Mariinsky Theater on 21. January 2010.

Anna Netrebko was Mimi, Sergei Semishkur was Rodolfo, Karina Chepurnova was Musetta, Vasily Gerello was Marcello, Vladimir Samsonov was Schaunard and Ilya Bannik was Colline. The proudction was by Ian Judge. Mikhail Agrest conducted the Chorus and Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theater.

Anna Netrebko made her debut as Mimi on 3. Jan 2006 in an unforgettable performance of the same Ian Judge's production of La Bohème at the Mariinsky Theater of St. Petersburg, with Rolando Villazón making her debut at the Mariinsky as Rodolfo and Valery Gergiev conducting the Chorus and Orchestra Mariinsky Theatre, being also his debut conducting La Bohème.

Since then, Anna Netrebko has been singing the role of Mimi in the same Ian Judge's production at the Mariinsky Theater of St. Petersburg on 23. Mar 2007, 29. Feb 2008 and 21. Jan 2010, all of them with Sergei Semishkur as Rodolfo and conducted by Mikhail Agrest.
