A Stunning Anna Netrebko in the Russian Edition of Vogue Magazine

The November issue of the Russian edition of Vogue Magazine has an interview and a really stunning collection of photos of Anna Netrebko by Peter Rigaud.

The interview and photo session were conducted at the Hotel Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom in April 2011, while the opera diva was singing the title role of Donizetti's Anna Bolena at the Wiener Staatsoper.

For the awesome photo session Anna wears a trench leather and polyester and a trench of gabardine, all by Jean Paul Gaultier, a Cashmere coat, leather boots, gloves and belt, all by Hermès, glasses by Prada, and a gold watch with diamonds, amethyst and enamel and earrings in white gold with pearls and diamonds, all by Chopard.

PRESS REVIEWS
Larry L. Lash, in his review of the premiere on 2. April 2011, wrote for Opera News: Netrebko's assumption of this Donizetti queen takes her one giant leap forward to claiming the title of diva assoluta del mondo. Her huge, plummy voice sounded as beautiful as ever, but her technique showed newfound confidence in passagework, particularly in trills, and seamless runs even to the lowest notes.

George Loomis wrote for the New York Times on 12. April 2011: Ms. Netrebko scored a personal triumph as Anna Bolena, in what may be her greatest achievement since her “Traviata” at the 2005 Salzburg Festival.

BLOG REVIEWS
Blogger CommandOpera, in a terrific review of the premiere on 2. April 2011, wrote: Perhaps the most critically important Operatic performance of this generation took place over the past weekend at the Wiener Staatsoper. Why was this assumption of Miss Netrebko as Anna Bolena of such tremendous stature? Singularly, Miss Netrebko is the only vocal artist today of her rank and presence at this precise moment in time to define where the art form of Opera currently exists.

Interview to Netrebko at the Kurier

Today's edition of austrian newspaper Kurier publishes an interview to Anna Netrebko.

Next saturday, the russian opera diva makes the title role debut in Donizetti's "Anna Bolena" at the Wiener Staatsoper. The rest of the cast features Elina Garanca as Giovanna Seymour, Francesco Meli as Lord Percy, Ildebrando d'Arcangelo as Enrico VIII and Elisabeth Kulman as Smeton. The conductor is Evelino Pidó and the director is Eric Génovèse. The performances run from 2. April to 17. April 2011.

Netrebko confirms in the interview that next season she will sing the role of the Countess in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro", where Schrott will sin the role of the Count, and she will make the role debut as Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" at the Wiener Staatsoper.

Among the new roles she is planning to sing in the future there are the title role of Puccini's "Manon Lescaut" and Leonora in Verdi's "Il Trovatore". Nevertheless, she points out that, most likely, before singing those roles at the Wiener Staatsoper, she would do it first at a small opera house.

Netrebko unveils that a CD and DVD may be released from the recordings of the performances of "Anna Bolena" at the Wiener Staatsoper. Ö1 radio and ORF2 TV (with a slight delay) will live broadcast the premiere on 2. April 2011.
